Drongan is a former mining village in East Ayrshire, with a population of around 3000. The town has one primary school with a nursery, and boasts two pubs, a variety of shops, the Schaw Kirk, a busy bowling green, and a community and health centre. The town’s former railway station is now a house. Drongan is seven miles from Ayr and nine miles from Cumnock, and is a growing and thriving community having seen a large recent development of new private houses. This has also created a nature walk area, Hannahston Park, around the Coalhall road. s1drongan.com has been developed to allow residents to share their news, views and opinions, publicise events and display photos and videos.
