6/11/2009Is there enough for Drongan's youngsters to do?
As the nights get darker, many young people in Drongan are looking around for entertainment with a common complaint being - 'there's nothing to do!'
One group already established in the town is the Drongan Youth Club, which meets on Monday nights from 7pm-9pm in Drongan Youth Wing.
New members are always welcome, and if you would like to join the youth club, then contact Lyn on 01292 522940 or come along on the night.
You must be secondary school age to join the youth club, which is for S1 to 16 year olds.
Also on offer in Drongan is a wide range of games and activities for youngsters in the Drongan Games Hall (youth room pictured here) - you can get in touch with the Games hall here.
If you're a member or leader of a club or group, why not share details of your club, so we can let everyone in town know what's going on - and if there really is nothing to do, let's hear what you'd like to see more of.

- I think a climbing wall at the games hall would be great adition for the older kids both male and female. It would let them burn off some energy, help them build up their strength and get them involved as a group. Of course if it's too expensive it won't work but these activities seem to work really well in other areas and need very little maintenance.

There is very little for the kids, there is not a lot for the forgotten teens - you know the ones who always get the blame right away as they are always "hanging" around.
These same teens who only last night (22/12/09) could be seen turning up in their droves to help push some unlucky family's car up a very icey "old swingy" brae - these kids are not all bad, they are simply the forgotten ones who are only remembered when there is a "bad lot" badge to be worn.
A shelter for these kids to stand in is not by any means enough!
